Staying at home when the kids go back to school next week? It’s the perfect time to start a DIY stone project!

It’s finally almost here – our kids are going back to school! Yes, indeed, schools in our area are fully reopening on time for in-classroom learning next week.

Last year as most of us remember, COVID delayed the opening schools for face-to-face teaching and learning. Schools in our area did not reopen until the beginning of October (Kindergarten through 5th Grade), mid-October (middle school) or right after the elections in early November (high school).

Here in Cobb County the first day of in-person classes are this coming Monday, August 2nd. The first day in Fulton County is a week later: Monday, August 9th. Practically every other county in central and northern Georgia open their schools somewhere between those two dates.

Of course, if you are a parent you are quite aware of this already. You probably started preparing for this coming school year more than you ever have for any school year since you were a kid going to school yourself. Home schooling your kids over the last year and half has been many things for many people. More than anything it most likely disrupted your normal routine and caused you to put many projects you were thinking of undertaking on hold.
